Canadian Industry Roadside Inspection Vehicle Requirements Training Course – Mississauga, ON – April 22-26, 2024

This is an industry roadside inspection training course on vehicle-related roadside regulatory requirements and out-of-service conditions in Canada.

This course includes information on commercial motor vehicle regulatory requirements, including National Safety Code (NSC) Standard 11B, the CVSA North American Standard Level I Inspection Procedure and the North American Standard Out-of-Service Criteria as it relates to vehicle components of a commercial motor vehicle and documenting violations.

This course will provide the motor carrier industry with the tools and knowledge to achieve compliance with Canada’s commercial motor vehicle safety regulations and a better understanding of the relationship between Canadian vehicle regulatory requirements and out-of-service conditions.

Crude Oil Transportation Training Course - Virtual - May 2, 2024

Tuesday, April 30, 2024 (9:00 AM-3:30 PM)

This virtual training course will introduce inspectors to the regulatory and transportation history of crude oil and current compliance requirements specific to crude oil in bulk packaging.

Prior to attending this training, students should already have knowledge of the hazardous materials table, shipping papers, marking, labeling and placarding. The course will include instruction and a post-test. This course WILL NOT cover Title 49 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) Part 172 in detail but will provide a high-level overview of the regulations.

This training course was made possible by a Hazardous Materials Instructor Training grant from the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration.

Canadian Industry Roadside Inspection Driver Requirements Training Course – Rocky View, AB – May 6-10, 2024

CVSA will hold an industry roadside inspection training course on Canadian driver requirements May 6-10 at the Alberta Motor Transport Association’s facility in Rocky View, Alberta. The focus of the training will be on regulatory driver-related roadside requirements and out-of-service conditions in Canada.

This course includes information on regulatory definitions, regulations for extra-provincial operations, commercial driver’s license and driver qualification requirements, dangerous goods, the updated electronic logging device rules, federal hours of service rules, annual inspection reports, standards for trip inspection reports, schedules for commercial motor vehicles, human trafficking identification and prevention, and documenting violations.

This course is intended to provide industry with the necessary training to better understand Canadian roadside regulatory requirements. The goal of the training is to provide each carrier with the tools and knowledge to achieve compliance with the roadside safety regulations and a better understand of the relationship between regulatory requirements and out-of-service conditions.

Industry Enhanced CMV Inspection For Autonomous Vehicles Training Course - Fort Worth, TX - May 13-17, 2024

This course includes information on regulatory definitions, intrastate vs. interstate operations, commercial driver’s license and driver qualification requirements, hazardous materials, hours-of-service rules, annual and trip inspections on commercial motor vehicles, human trafficking identification and prevention, and the DataQ filing process.
